What was the highlight of Fat Monkey Hostel

To be honest nothing to like

- we booked double standard room with shared bathroom (850 PHP). We make that decision based on pics on booking.com. When we arrived one lady told us, that we can pay less (800 PHP) because room is smaller. The room was completely different, without window, very close to the reception (it was noisy all time), bed sheets were dirty. - we asked the same lady about tickets to El Nido. First, she asked how long we will stay. When we said one night, then she refused to order those tickets.

What was the highlight of Fat Monkey Hostel

Nice, albeit basic hostel accommodation and facilities.

The grounds are cute with a nice outdoor area and ample hammocks. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

We booked a private room with private bathroom online. When we arrived, the room was not available so they put us in a private room with shared bathroom, but did not offer us a discounted rate for this room so we ended up paying the same rate. It's also a 10 minute tri ride into town which costs about 20 pesos each way.

Really social place with very friendly owners and all services available like airport shuttle and laundry

Quite far out of Coron town, not very clean (lspider rags and dusty/dirty power sockets), no light you van turn of from the bed and no mosquito nets

I guess it's ok if you can't afford better, but it wasn't clean or comfortable.

Common areas were lovely, nice place to relax.

Bed was really uncomfortable but the worst was the lizard in my bed and all the spider webs falling from the walls, that was really scary. I didn't stay long enough to use the shower, but I know that there isn't hot water.

They had a really nice common area where you could hang...

They had a really nice common area where you could hang around in the garden, lie down in the hammocks or meet new people.

The bathroom was very dirty. You could see insects nesting in the wall. The shower barely spend enough water for showering. Also, the breakfast was very basic. Only toasts and an egg.

We stayed here for a night as we had an early flight the...

We stayed here for a night as we had an early flight the next morning. The staff was friendly and contacted us upfront about airport shuttles. For us the location was good because it was in our way to the airport. Clean and comfortable, nice stay for a night.

The location a bit out of town was useful on our way to the airport, but not the best if you want to visit Coron.

It was alright, average.

It was alright, average. I stayed in a private room which I think was much better than the dorms. The outside space is big and nice, staff was helpful.

It’s a bit far from the town.

The owner is nice, staff is pretty friendly,decent free breakfast.

Wifi was horrible! Room was a sauna, couldn’t sleep- I am a deep sleeper. The bed almost fell down when I climbed on top of it. The scooter rental place didn’t give me my passport back after 24 hours ( which isn’t part of the property but is affiliated) I realized this a whole day after they were supposed to give it back to me on the way to the airport. It was a miracle that the shuttle driver was able to get my passport to me just by making phone calls. It was a miracle I got it back and made my flight. The mattress was thin. They put a beach in the photo but there is no beach near by. No investment into nice ambiance. One of my least if not my least favorite hostels I have ever stayed in. But I guess what can you expect for 400 pesos a night?
